Midwest Flooding Driven by a Perfect Storm of Extreme Weather and Climate Change

The flooding in the Midwest, has forced thousands of people in Iowa and Nebraska to flee their homes. In this region of the U.S. it is a perfect storm of melting snow, “bomb cyclone” rain, and climate change that has conspired to push these floods over prior experiences. A warming climate has made this confluence of events all the more likely, due to there being more energy and moisture available.
