Lessons from Psychology that Offer Some Hope for Making Political Headway on Climate Change

There are big problems when scientific evidence collides with political rhetoric. Climate denialism has an advantage, where the language used in the IPCC report tends to be more cautious, more complex, and less confident than language used by a factually misleading denialist report. This article examines the findings of scientists who study the psychology of storytelling and rhetoric have to say about the several factors that give climate change denialists an advantage in the political marketplace.
